How does TACcom evaluate our needs?
During an initial meeting, we analyse your needs to identify which theatrical vehicle would be the most appropriate. The main elements that we take into consideration are the objective, the messages to be conveyed, the context, the target audience and its understanding of and opinions about the subject matter.
What sort of training does TACcom provide?
As with all of our theatrical vehicles, our training sessions are custom-written to meet the client's needs and organisational context. A TACcom training session does not resemble conventional training. It may include theatre, theory presented by our trainer or yours, discussion groups, role-playing and other practical exercises. For example, there could be interaction with actors involving everyday situations, which allow participants to take the learning to the workplace.
What training have TACcom resources received?
All our resources have been initially trained as professional actors. Our expertise has evolved over the past 20 years, as have the skills of our people. Staff have received additional training as group facilitators, trainers and training designers and also in needs analysis and the consultation process.
How much does it cost?
The price can vary between approximately $2,500.00 and $15,000.00 depending on the type of presentation required to achieve your objectives. The determining factors are length, the number of resources, the number of meetings required, etc. Video budgets are generally between $20,000.00 and $40,000.00.
How long does the process take?
A simple project can be developed in 3 to 4 weeks. More elaborate mandates that involve consultations and development meetings with committees can take 6 to 8 weeks. If you are on a tight schedule, we will propose a vehicle that can be produced within the available time. That way you control the quality of your event and ensure that your objectives are met.
How we are involved in the creative process?
You need to participate in 2 or 3 meetings. At the first, the writer gathers relevant information. The second is a reading of the script for your approval of content and form. The third is a dress rehearsal at our premises for final approval of the presentation.
Is humour always used?
Humour is used to play down problematic situations, to convey delicate messages and address sticky issues. The level of humour depends on your request, the type of vehicle and the attendees. The subject matter can also be treated in a more realistic, dramatic or emotional way. Our aim is to reach participants on an emotional level and transmit your messages in the most effective manner possible.
How do you evaluate the impact of the presentation?
As a general rule, our vehicles target changes in behaviour or attitude. This makes it difficult to gauge impact with pinpoint precision. Some of our clients have done so, however, and the results are interesting. For example, a bank saw customer complaints drop 24% in the quarter following our session.
Often at the end of an event, participants fill out an informal evaluation form. We are consistently given a high rating.
Do you provide technical services?
We also offer the services of a graphic artist who can create event-specific documents (PowerPoint, workbooks, posters, etc.), plus the A/V services adapted to your specific needs and ours.
